A MAN thought to be one of the youngest people in Barnsley to be diagnosed with dementia has died, aged 40.

Gareth Wilmot was diagnosed at just 35 with frontotemporal dementia with Pick’s Disease.

Over the last four years, he lived at Havenfield Lodge care home in Darfield where he died early on Monday.

His mum Lesley, 67, of Hope Avenue, Goldthorpe, said: “We are all upset, but we are relived that Gareth isn’t in pain any more.”
