A CYCLIST took part in a gruelling coast-to-coast ride in memory of a Shafton woman who died of cancer at the age of 47.
Debbie Cundy, from Sheffield, lost best friend Jane Cooper, of Beech Close, in July and felt compelled to raise cash for Weston Park, where she received chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment.
Mum-of-two Jane, who left behind partner Jason and daughters Amelia, ten, and Romany, eight, led a healthy lifestyle but went to her doctor with a cough before an x-ray confirmed that she had terminal lung cancer.
Debbie, whose challenge saw her complete a 275-mile ride across Ireland in just three days from September 22, has raised cash for the charity before and has already surpassed her £500 target.
