A VILLAGE hall packed with residents concerned about the impact of hundreds of new homes was just what the doctor ordered.

Dr Jo Willoughby is spearheading a campaign to protect a huge swathe of greenbelt she fears could be developed with up to 1,000 new homes.

A few weeks ago Dr Jo saw a notice on a lamppost near her home in Staincross Common.

It was put up by the council to inform residents that the authority was proposing to reclassify a 28.8 hectare area of green belt as ‘safeguarded’ space as part of the local plan - a document which will shape planning policy in the borough until 2033.
