IT has to be said she’s scarily good at her job.

Rachael Divers has a knack of making people look their best - and at this time of the year, as Halloween approaches, their worst.

Her work usually sees people given fabulous makeovers for weddings, proms and glamorous photo-shoots.

But at this time of the year she uses her make up brushes to create some of the most hideous looking creatures you are ever likely to see.

From scary nuns and killer clowns, to eyeless zombies and knife wielding slasher nurses this girl brings them to life in every gory detail.

Indeed make-up artist Rachael is a talented lady who is internationally recognised in her field.

This week Rachael has been invited to London to show off her skills at the National Professional Beauty Awards 2018 in the Make-Up Specialist of the Year category.

Rachael 29, from Park View, Shafton, has been selected to take part in the Make-Up Specialist of the Year category which takes place on October 26.

And naturally she is made up about it.

She said: “The National Professional Beauty Awards are the most prestigious and established awards scheme for the beauty, spa, nails and aesthetics markets, recognising those who make a real difference to the industry and encouraging their development.”

Rachael made it to the shortlist after her application for the awards scored highly enough to secure her spot as one of only six in the finals after the rigourous judging process.

The finals are to be held at the makeup studio inside the London College of Beauty Therapy when Rachael will be asked to design and apply a makeup look to a set brief, followed by an interview in a boardroom to assess her skills and knowledge.

The winner will be announced at a glamorous awards night held in London in February.

Rachael said: “I cannot believe that I have made it to the finals for such a prestigious award.

“Professional Beauty is a leader in events, conferences, magazines and awards and operates throughout India, Ireland, South Africa, UAE and of course, the UK.

“It’s such a huge company. I’m so proud and completely excited.”
