A MAN from Nottingham has been arrested after 'serious racial abuse' was directed at a Barnsley FC player during the away match at Notts County.
The 50-year-old was arrested by officers from Nottinghamshire Police on suspicion of racially aggravated disorderly conduct.
An appeal was launched by police following the abuse, which had appeared to have come from a supporter in the Kop stand at Meadow Lane.Officers worked with both clubs in relation to the incident.
The man has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
