A 28-YEAR-OLD man suffered a broken arm and nose after being beaten with a crutch in violent assault at Barnsley Interchange.

The man and his 27-year-old brother had been asleep on a bench when the incident happened at about 4.15am on Wednesday, October 8.

Police said the pair were woken when a girl started to remove clothing from one of their bags.

Two men who were with her then carried out the attack.

The victim, who walked with a crutch, fell to the floor and was then beaten with the crutch by one of the men.

He required surgery for his broken arm and suffered cuts and bruises.

His younger brother also suffered bruising and grazes.

The girl is described as white, between 15 and 16, 5ft 2ins, slightly overweight with short blonde hair and is believed to be wearing a blue blouse and blue trousers.

The first man is described as white, between 16 and 18, around 5ft 2ins, of slim build with short black hair with very short sides, which may have been dyed a light colour.

The second man is described as white, 19 to 21, of medium build with short black hair.
