REPORTS of a young man ‘living’ in a van in Penistone are to be investigated by town councillors.
With fears of drug dealing, residents turned up at Monday’s meeting to seek council help.
A woman said the man was apparently living in a vehicle in Berrywell Avenue.
“It’s there all the time,” she said. “And he has been around for quite a while now. We wondered if the council could do something about it.
“We have thought drugs might be involved but we can’t be sure. The van is just stationary.”
The woman said a couple seemed to be sleeping in another vehicle but that this ‘moved around the area’.
Coun Andrew Millner said: “It should be easy enough for us to look into this. We will investigate.”
