THE Mayor has given the first grants from her charity to groups which work with people who have dementia.
When Coun Linda Burgess was elected as mayor, she chose to support dementia groups from her mayoral charity, after both of her parents died from the disease.
Both organisations and individuals, who believe they can improve the quality of care for people with dementia, can apply for grants.
