Jose Morais says star striker Oliver McBurnie will return to training today and be ready to play tomorrow after spending the international break with Scotland.

McBurnie – who has scored six goals in nine Reds games since arriving in January – started on his Scotland debut on Friday as they lost 1-0 to Costa Rica in a friendly at Hampden Park. He then travelled to Hungary and played the final six minutes of Scotland's 1-0 win on Tuesday, coming off the bench for scorer Matt Phillips. He is due back at Oakwell today.

Head coach Jose Morais said: "I am happy that he made his debut. I am happy that he played only a few minutes on Tuesday because it kept him in the right condition to play on Friday without being very tired."

Wales duo Ryan Hedges and Tom Bradshaw are also due back at Oakwell today after playing in the China Cup. The pair have made a 11,500-mile round trip to Nanning during the international break. After beating hosts China 6-0 in the semi-final on Thursday, they lost 1-0 to Uruguay in Monday's final. Hedges – who did not play in the semi-final – came on for his second international cap in the 90th minute while Bradshaw, who had played 27 minutes against China, stayed on the bench.

Stevie Mallan played the first 61 minutes of Scotland under 21s' match in Andorra on Friday which they drew 1-1 thanks to an injury-time equaliser.

Ex-Reds John Stones and Kieran Trippier started both England's 1-0 win in Holland on Friday and the 1-1 draw against Italy at Wembley on Tuesday. Former Barnsley loanee Jack Butland played in the second match but there was no debut for former Reds captain Alfie Mawson.
