Paddy McCourt's amazing goal against Middlesbrough, which has been viewed 200,000 times on YouTube this week, could attract the attention of other clubs, says David Flitcroft.

The manager has compared McCourt with Ricardo Vaz Te who also signed a one-year contract and was snapped up by West Ham in January 2012 after some excellent performances.

Flitcroft said: "I want Paddy here longer than a year but that will be decided by him and the people above me in the club. He's settled here and got his daughter in a school. When the top clubs in this league play each other the games are usually won by a moment of brilliance and Paddy could provide that.

"The goal will alert people. I would expect interest. It happened with Vaz Te and it could happen with Paddy. But that is plan A. Plan B is winning football matches."
