A TIRELESS campaigner who has worked in the mental health field for more than two decades has been honoured by the deputy prime minister.

Helen Boutle is one of ten winners of Nick Clegg's Mental Health Hero awards.

She was chosen after a national campaign led to more than 900 nominations.

She has been instrumental in the emergence of Creative Recovery - which uses creative, therapeutic and social activities to challenge the stigma surrounding mental health and enabling people to live their lives to the full.

Helen, 40, was nominated by Hayley Youell, a co-founder of Creative Recovery and a long term colleague on various mental health projects.
