BARNSLEY Premier Leisure is investing £500,000 into the Metrodome Pool Complex in works to begin later this month.

The exciting changes will include construction of a new teaching pool next to the existing competition pool, a new interactive parent and toddler zone, a new

poolside in the waterpark and improving the viewing gallery for the pool hall.

Manager Simon Potter said: “The addition of a new teaching pool and the creation of a new interactive parent and toddler zone is going to be a major enhancement to our pool offering.

“The improvements are also going to see the creation of a new all-family changing village which we hope will really appeal to families.

“We’re really excited about the improvements. We’ll be open for the February half term holiday, and then we’ll be closed for four weeks reopening in time for the Easter holidays. Work on the second phase will carry on after Easter while we remain open, and everything will be fully complete in time for the summer holidays.”

The pool complex will be closed from February 26 until March 23.

During the closure BPL will be trying to relocate swimming lessons to other sites. All fitness members that use the pool will have access to all other BPL venues for lane and casual swim sessions. Details of all sessions can be found on the BPL website www.bpl.org.uk or an information sheet can be collected from the Fitness Reception.
