ALMOST £24,000 has been raised by Barnsley author Milly Johnson to help a woman whose two sons were murdered by their father.

Milly penned The Barn on Half Moon Hill to raise money for Claire Throssell, whose sons Jack and Paul, 12 and nine, were killed in a house fire in Penistone which was started by their father.

So far, it has raised £23,833.

Milly said: “I’m very happy with that, but hopefully we can raise a few bob more.

“For as long as this book is in existence, any money made will go to Claire. It is not for her charity, it is for her - to help improve her quality of life.”
