RESIDENTS who were expecting their brown bins to be emptied on Friday in the Gawber Road and Old Town area should put them out for collection tomorrow (Wednesday) Barnsley Council has said.
The residents affected would have normally had their brown bins emptied last Tuesday, but as it was New Year’s Day, this was rearranged for Friday January 4. However the crew was unable to collect bins from some properties due to the lack of a small vehicle capable of negotiating narrow back streets.
A council spokesman told the Chronicle: “One round for roads/backings requiring a small vehicle such as Gawber Road/Old Town were unable to be collected as planned on Friday 4 January due to no small vehicle being available.
“Collections have been rearranged for tomorrow Wednesday 9 January 9.”
