Barnsley have brought in central midfielder Sam Morsy on loan from Wigan Athletic until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old from Wolverhampton is currently away on international duty with Egypt, for whom he made his debut last night against Guinea.

Morsy began his career at Port Vale before moving to Chesterfield, scoring on the opening day of last season in their 3-1 win over the Reds, then going on to Wigan Athletic in January.

He helped Wigan to promotion alongside Barnsley last season but had not featured in the Championship so far this campaign.
