A MOTHBALLED housing development can now be completed after plans to change the proposed types of property at the site were approved.
Almost half of the original 90 homes earmarked off Cypress Heights, Smithies, have been built but the project remains incomplete after the developer, Portford Homes, ceased trading.
The derelict site has since been bought by Saul Homes, which has now successfully applied to put 28 two-storey houses on the remaining land.
A total of 43 homes have already been built at the site.
Six of the new homes will have two bedrooms, with the remaining 22 to have three bedrooms.

We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
It’s our belief that news should be available to everyone regardless of their circumstance. But we need a little helping hand to do so.
Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
