THE MOTHER of a girl who has undergone surgery after being knocked down wants to trace the driver involved to let her know her daughter is OK.

Shannon Townsend, 11, was crossing Pontefract Road, Lundwood, when she was struck by a car at 6pm last Thursday.

Since then she has undergone surgery for a broken ankle and is recovering at her home at Grange Crescent, Cundy Cross, with a full leg pot which must wear a full leg pot for four weeks. She will then have to wear a half-pot up to her knee for another four weeks.

Her mum Lisa, 32, said the young woman driving was very shaken and wanted to let her know that Shannon is recovering.
