A LOCAL MP has criticised the government for failing to respond to those who need support purchasing personal protective equipment.

Last week, Stephanie Peacock, MP for Barnsley East, raised her concerns during virtual parliament about the offer made by the British Chambers of Commerce to help co-ordinate spare PPE for businesses and get it to the frontline.

The MP also called for government to outline its plan to deliver essential PPE to care workers and care homes.

Stephanie said: “PPE saves lives - it is urgent that doctors, nurses, and health care workers on the frontlines are protected.

“I will support every measure that will ensure NHS staff and care workers have the tools they need to prevent the spread of coronavirus and protect their health.”
