A MURDER investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Barnsley in the early hours of Saturday morning.
South Yorkshire Police were called to Darley Avenue, Athersley, following reports that a man had been stabbed.
A 43-year-old man was taken to hospital but died shortly after midnight.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “An investigation is now underway and the man’s family are being supported by specially trained officers.
“We are urging anyone with any information about the man’s death to contact us.
“Please call 101 and quote incident number 1227 of June 26.”
