Hoyland fundraiser Alison Richardson is auctioning off two limited edition prints signed by 'William Bennett' and wants to know more about the artist.
She said: "The pictures were donated for our charity auction but all we know is that Bill Bennett was born in Thurnscoe and worked in Barnburgh.
"The man that donated them doesn't want to be named but he is in a mining association that collects memorabilia - they give us something every year."
Alison is running her auction and fundraiser tonight (November 1) at Hoyland Belmont WMC on West Street.
It is to raise funds for Weston Park and Barnsley Hospice and this is the event's seventh year.
"We have had friends and relatives who have suffered from cancer and we want to give something back," she said.
