A WOMAN whose threatening and abusive behaviour made life a misery for residents at a sheltered housing and retirement complex has been evicted.

It is the first time a tenant has been kicked out of the council-owned Glebe Court at Tankersley, which has 36 flats managed by Berneslai Homes.

Jane Brannan, a senior antisocial behaviour officer for the council, said the woman was evicted last month and will not be able to apply for council housing for up to five years.

She said the council's antisocial behaviour team was forced to take action against the woman, in her 40s, after a catalogue of complaints from other residents about her rowdy behaviour.
