A BLUEPRINT which carves up Barnsley into parcels of land for more than 20,000 new homes and employment sites for up to 32,000 jobs is about to go under a six week public consultation.

The biggest plot of land is fields between Pogmoor, Higham, Gawber and Barugh Green, and is earmarked for a mixture of housing and employment uses.

There are dozens of other sites in the draft approved by the council's cabinet on Wednesday, including approximately 351 houses between Vernon Road and Upper Sheffield Road at Ward Green, 315 at Dodworth between the Water Royd Drive estate and the M1, and 230 on the former Priory school site.
