BARNSLEY-BASED online retail giant ASOS has appointed a new chairman.

Adam Crozier, the former chief executive of ITV, the Football Association and Royal Mail, will take over from Brian McBride in November.

ASOS’s warehouse, on Park Spring Road, Grimethorpe, employs around 4,000 people and is the distribution hub for orders which come from customers around the world.

The 54-year-old said: “The ASOS story is truly impressive and I am tremendously excited to become part of it. I’m greatly looking forward to working with the team that is building a global powerhouse in online fashion.”
