The joy that is a Milly Johnson novel landed on my desk a couple of weeks ago.

It's not taken me long to consume it and lay back in that same self-satisfied glow as one does when finishing a large box of expensive chocolates and a bottle of good red wine.

Milly writes likes she is: warm, funny and self-deprecating, taking you on a journey of discovery and expectation.

It's Raining Men is no exception. This no high brow book to boast to others of reading, in the knowledge they (a) wouldn't understand it, or (b) wouldn't have read it in the first place.

This is the sort of book you'd recommend to a friend. It's a page turner and unashamedly easy to read, but what's wrong with that?

The main characters are likeable and engaging and there is plenty of Milly-style intrigue and interwoven storylines.

As you can tell I'm a fan. Roll on book ten!
