HOYLAND Common’s new pub - the Tap and Brew - is expected to open in around a week’s time with the owner venturing into the licensed trade after running a fish and chip shop.
The pub, in Hoyland Road, is in premises formerly occupied by a cafe and is now in the final stages of being converted into a micro pub, which will accommodate a maximum of 60 customers.
But the small capacity is matched by a big offer, with owner Alison Shelley planning to offer six real ales - on a rotating basis - as well as other draught beers and bottled drinks.
In addition, the bar will open to cater for the breakfast trade and go on to serve lunches, with food expected to give way to a drinks only service, with the possibility of snack food, later in the day.
