LUNDWOOD Newsagents has closed down with the owner citing the closure of Priory School as a major factor in falling trade.

Asif Daud, who lives in Dewsbury, has run the shop for nine years.

"I'm gutted to be honest. We just weren't making enough and we just had to make a move.

"These last couple of years have just been very hard, especially since the school closed down. That hit us very hard. But we've given it a good go.

"I have got a couple of interested buyers, but I doubt it will be a paper shop again."
