Lunchtime favourite Des Vickers - better known to Barnsley folk as 'the potato man' - is on the move.
He is starting a new chapter in the family-run business after pitching up his baked potato van on Wellington Street car park for the last ten years.
But baked spud fans need not panic as Des, 62, isn't moving too far - he is returning the business to its roots on Peel Square.
He and his son, Matthew, 33, who owns the business, have invested about £50,000 in a new catering unit and will be pitching up outside Yorkshire Bank, where the original baked potato stall started in 1983.
Matthew said: "There's been a potato van trading in the town centre for 30 years and we've had the business for ten years.
"We bought it in 1999 and it consisted of an outdoor Pickwick potato oven with a table and an umbrella which we used for two years before buying our first trailer with everything inside. It was bliss with no rain or snow.
"We've now been trading 14 years, satisfying the people of Barnsley who we thank for their support over the years."
Des said they plan to diversify with more toppings for 'taties, breakfast sandwiches, specialist teas and coffees and a seating area.
