Barnsley drew a game 0-0 for the first time this season at Selhurst Park on Saturday as they played in Crystal Palace's away kit.

Referee Keith Stroud thought that the Reds' home and away kit clashed with Palace home colours so the visitors had to wear Palace's yellow and blue second strip with shorts and socks bought at Sports Direct in Barnsley on Thursday afternoon.

The Reds have now moved onto 48 points, the same total they reached last season, and other results meant they stayed out of the bottom three. They did not manage a shot on goal and had to defend almost constantly but the point could prove crucial in the relegation fight.

Palace had the better of the first half and Reds goalkeeper Luke Steele had to be at his best to deny Andre Moritz from a free-kick then rush out to block a shot from Glenn Murray who was through one-on-one.

Substitutes Stephen Dobbie and Aaron Wilbraham came close after the break but the hosts could not break down the Reds despite the trickery of England international Wilfried Zaha.
