AN operation to clamp down on illegal off-road motorbikes will take place in the coming month.
Hotspot areas in Grimethorpe including Cemetery Road, Lady Wood, West Haigh Wood and The Dell will be targeted in light of a fresh batch of complaints made by local residents.
Dave Bagshaw, the PCSO supervisor for the Local Policing Team (LPT), confirmed that police in the area will be putting on another operation.
Coun Jeff Ennis, who welcomed the move, said: “We have had a gate fitted to restrict access on Cemetery Road but that has only stopped quads from gaining access - motorbikes can still squeeze through.
“Something more does need to be done so we’re glad about the operation.”
