TWO Barnsley women have denied murder.
Penelope Brownlie, 45, and Justine Wainwright, 57, were arrested after 42-year-old Claire Louise Smith’s body was found on Union Street, Barnsley, on May 19.
The women, both of Britannia Close, Barnsley, denied murder at Sheffield Crown Court yesterday and were remanded in custody. A trial date of November 5 was set.
A post mortem examination revealed that Ms Smith died as a result of injuries from a ‘very severe, physical attack’.
