A PARENT has hit out at a primary school for traumatising her eight-year-old child with ‘graphic’ descriptions about suicide bombers in the wake of the Paris attacks.

Shafton Primary Academy, who put on a special assembly when its children - some as young as five - returned into school on the Monday after the November 13 killings.

A school spokesman told the Chronicle: “After the very sad events in ParisÊweÊdid briefly talk to the children aboutÊit at assembly.

“There were no inappropriate images shown, or any images of the locations targeted on the Friday evening.

“We focussed on the need for peace and love. It is very important that when tragedies happen in the world and children see the dramatic news coverage that they are reassured by the school as soon as possible.”
