VOLUNTEER Pauline Phillips has been awarded for her tireless work to keep Thurnscoe Park in bloom.

She lives in the Park House and passionate about the trees and flower which grow there and the wildlife which lives there.

She has looked after the park for about 18 months and has been nominated for a Proud of Barnsley award in the Love Where You Live category,

She said: "Being nominated for an award makes all the hassle you get from the kids worthwhile. It's nice to know someone has thought enough of you and that you're making a difference."

Pauline has been nominated by Marie Sinclair, a community development officer who supports volunteers in the community.
