Penistone Church went 4-0 up after 16 minutes at Hall Road Rangers on Tuesday but faced a fierce fight back before winning 5-3.

Andrew Ring bagged a brace then Lewis Dickinson and Alvyn Riley completed a phenomenal start for Church in the Northern Counties East League. But it was 4-3 at half-time before Riley’s superb lob secured victory.

Church also enjoyed a 1-0 win at Bottesford Town on Saturday thanks to Dickinson’s 50th-minute strike.Penistone have won their last three matches, all away from home, and are seventh seven in the table. They have no draws in 13 games so far.

Tomorrow they host Clipstone who have won all ten matches so far but were 3-0 down on Tuesday at bottom side Hallam – who had lost all of their previous 11 – before it was called off due to fog.
