A PENSIONER is calling for extra street lighting near two schools after he was almost knocked off his scooter.

Geoff Rodgerson, 82, of Manor Grove, Royston said he had a near miss with a woman who was picking kids up from Royston St John the Baptist Primary School, where there are only two street lights.

Geoff Rodgerson said: "It's just not bright enough, there really does need to be some more lighting on those streets. It is so dangerous, it's an accident waiting to happen."
