David Perkins is set to leave Barnsley for Blackpool but will not be available to play for the Seasiders at Oakwell, the Chronicle understands.

The 31-year-old central midfielder, who has played 100 games for the Reds, is the latest of several players to leave Oakwell this month as new manager Danny Wilson makes major changes.

Wilson admitted on Thursday that Perkins was going to leave and Blackpool now appear to have beaten Ipswich and other clubs to his signature.

Jason Scotland is also expected to leave Barnsley soon with clubs in Scotland interested.
