THE NUMBER of locals who have turned to a support organisation for help has almost doubled in the last year.
Citizens' Advice Bureau (CAB) chief executive Pat Heath says figures just released reveal local people asked for help dealing with 97 per cent more problems than the previous year.
A survey revealed 58 per cent of respondents' households had run out of money for food at some time.
CAB hold a debt drop-in session in Wellington House on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 9.30am.

It’s our belief that news should be available to everyone regardless of their circumstance. But we need a little helping hand to do so.
Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
