PLANS for the new Goldthorpe Primary School have been submitted this week and could be approved within a month.

The proposed new school on land cleared from compulsory purchase orders of terraced houses on Main Street would replace the current one on the corner of High Street.

Barnsley Council is the applicant while B3 Architects is acting as the agent.

Initial plans were for a single-storey building which would provide space for 310 pupils and 26 full time equivalent nursery spaces.

The application is currently scheduled for to be determined at the planning regulatory board meeting to be held on April 14, the spokeswoman confirmed.
