DETAILED plans have been submitted for more than 200 houses on part of the former opencast mining site at Mapplewell.

Outline permission for up to 250 new homes west of Wakefield Road were approved in April 2014 and the site is being developed in two stages consisting of a mix of two, three and four-bed houses.

A further application to approve the finer details such as design, appearance and layout has been submitted by Netherton Homes and a decision is expected by July 24.

The site borders houses off Eastfield Crescent, Cloverlands Drive, Snailsden Way and Cloudberry Way and detailed plans show access will be off Wakefield Road.
