POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an 18-year-old woman was killed in a collision in Monk Bretton in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The incident, which occurred at 5.05am on Burton Road, involved a red Renault Clio which collided with a property on the road.

Emergency services were called but the woman, a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Clio is believed to have been driving behind a white Citreon C1.

Her family are being supported by specially trained officers.

A police spokesman said: “Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, who may have seen the driving manner of either vehicle prior to the collision, or who may have any information that can help with our enquiries.”
