POLICE are dealing with a major incident near Oakwell this evening.
A number of emergency vehicles are attending the scene at Coniston Road. A cordon is in place, with several entrances to back streets and alleyways taped off.
A source at the scene told the Chronicle officers in attendance were referring to it as a ‘major incident’.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: "Officers are dealing with an incident on Coniston road.
"At this time there are no further updates but a statement will be released in due course."
