POLICE have released a CCTV image of a man they suspect was involved in a burglary near Barnsley town centre.
At about 5.30am on July 25, a 34-year-old man, asleep at his home on Lancaster Street, was woken by the sound of his car being started.
Police say he went downstairs to confront a man who was trying to take his car.
The offender ran away on foot, shortly after, leaving with an amount of cash. The car was not stolen.
A spokesman said: “If you can help, or have any information about the incident, please call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously quoting incident number 140 of July 25.”
