POLICE have issued an appeal following a burglary in Athersley.

Three men, who all had their faces covered, forced entry into a house on Laithes Lane just after midnight on Sunday January 21 but left empty handed after being disturbed by the occupants.

One of the suspects is said to have been carrying a homemade implement and although no-one was injured in the incident, the occupants were left shaken and upset.

The men are all described as white, with one wearing a distinctive matching burgundy tracksuit and white trainers.

Another man is said to have been wearing a black puffer coat, blue Adidas tracksuit bottoms and grey trainers.

The third man is described as wearing blue trainers, a black Adidas tracksuit top and grey jogging bottoms.
