POLICE and local councillors have joined forces in a last-ditch attempt to make a road safer after five accidents in a month.
West Green Way, which runs off Cudworth roundabout, fell under the spotlight at last week’s Community Engagement Meeting at Cudworth Fire Station and saw residents of West Green Avenue, which runs alongside the main road, turn out in force to voice their concerns.
The meeting was told that there were five accidents last month alone, with the latest happening on March 5.
Sarah Reynolds, who has had three vehicles - all of which had been parked on her drive - written off following crashes on the main road, said: “I’ve lived there since 2006 and there’s been a real spurt in accidents over the last three years in particular.”
