Police officer recognised for 40 years' exemplary service

A POLICE officer known for her infectious laugh has been recognised for 40 years' exemplary service with South Yorkshire Police.
Lesley Moore, who is the property officer at Barnsley Police Station, was praised for her 'professionalism, courage and determination to succeed' and was presented with an award by Ch Supt Liz Watson.
Lesley, 58,fom Elsecar joined South Yorkshire Police in 1975 as a typist in Wombwell before becoming an enquiry desk clerk in 1994. Three years later she became a property officer and in 2006 moved to Barnsley.
We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
