Police have issued a warning after two suspected drugs deaths in Worsbrough within 24 hours.

A 34-year-old woman died at a property on Genn Lane early on Wednesday and a 33-year-old man collapsed unconscious at a property on Mount Vernon Road early yesterday.

He was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after.

Supt Shelley Hemsley said: "Whilst the cause of death has not yet been established, we do believe they were drugs related and we are conducting a number of enquiries in both cases to ascertain the circumstances. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the two people who have sadly died.

"Drugs can have severe consequences and damaging effects and we want to encourage people who may be affected either by the use of drugs, both legal and illegal substances, or have concerns for a loved one who may be affected, to please seek help and advice from health professionals."
