SOUTH Yorkshire Police checked more than 300 cars to help keep Barnsley’s roads safe during an impromptu action day.
Barnsley West Neighbourhood Policing Team’s officers took to the streets on Wednesday and completed speed checks throughout the borough as a result of residents’ complaints.
Of the cars that were checked, seven drivers were reported on summons for driving over the speed limit.
