CANNON Hall Farm’s annual pumpkin festival has been given a revamp and this year is going to be better than ever.

There will be magical twists and turns around every corner and each child will receive a spell book which they can complete throughout the day to graduate from the farm’s very own wizardry school.

There will be regular shows with Barry the wannabe wizard and his wily professor which will be held in the farm’s brand new indoor event space.

The farm director, Robert Nicholson, said: “Our pumpkin festival really has gone from strength to strength in recent years and it’s a day out that people really seem to enjoy. Our farmers all become carvers and we really enjoy helping the families make their spooky lanterns.

“We seem to do more and more each year to make it a really good day out. As a family run attraction we really do want to make sure all families visiting us have a really great day and make some fantastic memories.

“It never fails to amaze me how much effort our visitors put into this event and I’ve seen some amazing fancy dress over the years.”

The pumpkin festival will be held on certain days throughout October and booking in advance online is encouraged as the event is anticipated to sell out.

Fancy dress is encouraged as there will be spot prizes given by farm staff to those who have made a special effort.

Tickets include all day admission to the farm, outdoor adventure play, indoor soft play, sheep and ferret racing, milking demos, tractor trailer rides, shire horse talks and meerkat sessions.

There is a voucher for £10 off a family ticket on page 3 of this week’s Barnsley Chronicle.
