MILLHOUSE Green Post Office is to close in October ,with the company accused of creating a situation where the business could not survive.
Sub post mistress Wendy Marsh has been in a wrangle with Post Office Counters for more than two years to try to save the outlet and details of the situation have been raised in Parliament by MP Angela Smith.
Mrs Marsh, who has run the Manchester Road business for 25 years, was told the status of the branch was to change - meaning she would switch from a Post Office salary to a commission only income, losing around £10,000 a year.
But in addition she would be expected to keep the counter open for an additional 15 hours a week.
