Brad Potts was 'delighted' to get his first goal at Oakwell but admits the Barnsley players were 'gutted' after Bristol City scored a last-minute leveller in a 2-2 Good Friday draw.

Midfielder Potts put Barnsley 2-1 ahead in the 78th minute, prompting a joyous celebration in which he threw his shirt into the stands and was booked. He had previously scored at Preston North End, Burton Albion and Millwall but never at home.

The 23-year-old told the Chronicle: "I was delighted, It was my first goal at Oakwell and I was really happy. The emotions got the better than me in the celebrations but I hope everyone realises how much it meant to me.

"I have been dying to score at Oakwell and there had been a lot of frustration built up in myself and I just let loose when I scored."

Potts could have scored earlier when he met a George Moncur cross three yards out with the goal gaping but it trickled from him to goalkeeper Frank Fielding.

"It was a great ball but because the pitch was so dry I had already slid and it hung up a bit, but I still should have scored and I was disappointed."

Potts was also disappointed that the Reds could not avoid setting a club record of 12 games without winning at home or move further clear of the relegation zone.

"In the end we deserved three points but, to concede so late on, obviously all the lads are gutted. We just have to keep going, it's another point closer to where we want to be. If we win on Monday (at Nottingham Forest) it will turn into a really good point.

"We created chances but we need to start putting them in the net and kicking on in games. When you are only one goal ahead there is a chance for the opposition to get back into the game."
