POUND shop war has broken out in Barnsley with a new discount store to rival the Poundland and the 99p Store.
Yorkshire retailer Poundworld opened its first store in Peel Street, creating 30 new jobs.
The shop will stock 5,000 products for the price of £1.
Chris Edwards Junior, trading director at Poundworld, said: "We're delighted to be opening our first store in Barnsley on Peel Street is in a fantastic, convenient location."
